A 1 Sheer Gardening and Landscaping
verbally abusive non-negotiating company
“I had hired A-1 sheer gardening and landscaping to trim shrubs, weed, deadhead hydrangea, raking and hauling of material. Once the job was done I was called and told the final price.I stated to Dolly Cheema that my husband and I were not satisfied with the work done on the back yard of the property. Trimming wasn't finished (boxwood on the front of the property and other shrubs on the hillside of the backside of the property). The hydrangeas were cut back extremely and Gurdip Cheema was told to only deadhead the largest hydrangea. Some weeding was also left undone. When Dolly Cheema was told this she put Gurdip on the phone. I preceeded to tell him the same thing and he got aggresive saying the plants will grow back and that the boxwoods weren't in the price quote. With this aggresiveness my husband and I decided we didn't want this company to come back to our property. When we tried to renegotiate a price for the work done (front yard was done to satisfaction) Dolly got verbally threatening and harassing. She said there is no room for negotiation and expexcted to be paid in full regardless of the damage to plants that had been done and also work not finished. She also told me she was going to write letters to my manager and CEO of my job and let them know what type of an employee they have. I was told GOD would punish me for what I am doing. Dolly also told me that she has been in the landscaping business for 20 years and she knows how to destroy people. I was called EVIL. It's EVIL people like me who try to get services for free by saying that a branch is broken a quote from Dolly. Not once during my conversation with Dolly did I ever say that they didn't deserve some kind of compensation, just not the full amount quoted. Dolly was yelling at me for most of the phone call that eventually I asked for the company mailing address to be able to mail out some sort of monetary compensation. I hired another landscaping company that came out and finished the job with comlete satisfaction. The aggresive nature of both Gurdip Cheema and Dolly Cheema is uncalled for. All that my husband and I had asked for was just a renegotiation in price. People like this should not be allowed to treat customers the way they did. It's shamefull.” -

Sterling Landscaping
My story, you decide
“We are residents of a Buchan development. This past spring, when we turned on our irrigation system, there was a geyser of water coming from one of the sprinkler heads. We hired someone to come out and repair it and when he dug down to where the main line connects to the sprinkler head he discovered that a root from an adjacent tree had grown through the pipe, busting it. It cost us $200 to have it repaired. We have four trees in our front yard. All of them have grown quite tall since we bought the house eight years ago. The guy who repaired the broken sprinkler line told us this is going to happen again, and that eventually the tree roots will cause damage to the sidewalk. A tree specialist had informed our homeowner's association a few years ago that the trees in the neighborhood should be removed, and should never have been planted in the first place. They grow to be too large and their root systems will damage the irrigation system and eventually the sidewalk. A few years ago during a winter storm, a tree from our neighbors yard uprooted and crashed through the fence separating our properties. The branches of the tree were resting on our roof, and only the fence prevented it from damaging the roof. The neighbor had to have the tree removed and paid to repair the fence. The tree was a cedar tree, and it should never have been planted there in the first place. There are two similar trees still there that have not been removed, and eventually they may pose a threat to our house. This is another example of what I consider poor landscaping choices when the neighborhood was built. And we now have another more costly problem related to the landscaping. This spring we started noticing standing water adjacent to the front of the house, and the soil adjacent to the concrete stairs leading up to our house was very wet and spongy. The problem is at least partially related to the landscaping. The roots of the hedges adjacent to the walkway in front of our house have grown through the french drain that feeds into the sewer line, and this has allowed soil to fill the pipe and block the flow of water. The drain was never wrapped with fabric to prevent this from happening. The water that cannot flow through the drain pipe due to the roots and soil has no place to go, so it sits there and accumulates. \n \n” -

Sterling Landscaping
Horrible Customer Services
“Sterling did all of the landscaping at our new Buchan home in the spring of 2007. We moved in the home in July 2007 and two of the trees were on the verge of dying. Sterling marked the trees as such and said they would be happy to replace if they didn't make it. Well after that winter, they were dead and we cannot get Sterling to come back out to replace them. I call at least twice a month and get the run around...horrible customer service. I just want my new trees and I will never use them again! ”
